Triumph Group signs up for virtual engineering development services 03/08/2006

virtual engineering development Aerospace systems, components and services supplier Triumph Group has signed a three year Centre of Excellence agreement with KIT consultancy and systems integrator Infosys to help the organisation respond more quickly to market shifts and to improve management of its engineering resources.

Infosys initially started working with Triumph subsidiary Triumph Composites in January 2005, and the relationship developed. “We view this relationship as a unique opportunity to access supplemental engineering expertise that will support our future growth,” says Richard Ill, Triumph’s president and CEO.

The Infosys’ Centre of Excellence will act as a virtual extension of Triumph’s engineering teams, providing concept design, detailing and analysis services. In an era where global engineering talent is in extremely short supply, the company says it’s an increasingly attractive option.

In fact, this is the fourth such agreement Infosys has signed this year, indicating that aerospace and automotive companies at least are starting to go this route to use the opportunities of global engineering service delivery.
