Customer relationship management (CRM): do we really need another application to do what we’ve all been doing perfectly adequately ever since our manufacturing companies were set up? ‘Adequately’ is the operative word here, because we might well have argued that our production management was adequate 30 years ago – but, joking apart, could we manage without our ERP and production systems today?
