Business intelligence and data management specialist Teradata is partnering with ERP giant SAP to offer integrated database systems for Global 3,000 users with very high user and data volume requirements.
Both say companies will be able to integrate multi-user enterprise analytical systems with seriously large SAP implementations much more quickly – via SAP’s NetWeaver and its enterprise service architecture – not just to get single views of their businesses, but to accommodate high levels of complex queries.
Dan Odette, vice president of manufacturing industry consulting, says there will be several joint offers along the lines already unveiled for the pharmaceuticals industry with sales force automation and clinical data management on the R&D side. “We will be rounding out our solutions for the rest of the industry sectors.”
Niall O’Doherty, director of EMEA for Tereadata, adds that there will also be advantages for very big users wanting to consolidate multiple business warehouse datamart systems, in terms of licensing, maintenance and hardware, as well as performance.
