SAP releases public beta of cloud-based 12sprints project 02/02/2010

manufacturing cloud business intelligence system SAP has now made its collaborative decision-making project available via public beta and has formed a strategic research partnership with The 2.0 Adoption Council – a peer forum of IT and business leaders.

12sprints, the codename for SAP's new management intelligence application, is the first SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution that brings together people, information and methods.

Marge Breya, executive vice president of SAP, says that the public beta phase invites everyone to take the solution for a free spin, evaluate it and contribute feedback to enrich its further development.

Those that take up the offer will find a cloud-based interface that makes it easy to invite people from inside or outside an organisation, and to view and share information, while employing interactive methods for feedback, brainstorming and analysis. #

Part of that is what Breya terms a "results-driven workspace designed to keep everyone on the same page, prompt action and help users achieve goals". Effectively, teams are guided through activities such as planning and decision-making using tools like SWOT analyses, polling and agenda planning.

"People don't want to be bound by unnatural and fragmented ways of working," says Breya. "This is why we developed 12sprints. It brings method to the madness, combining not only business intelligence and collaboration technology but also methods with a framework to help teams share intelligence and make better decisions that drive meaningful results."
