Amstrad goes live with ERP system from IFS 27/11/2009

manufacturing business ERP software Following its acquisition by BSkyB, Amstrad has announced the implementation of a new ERP system from IFS that, it says, will improve collaboration across the newly integrated workforce.

According to Marion Scott, head of supply chain services at BSkyB, the deployment of IFS's ERP system was essential to provide a single, business-wide platform from which to improve internal efficiencies, in readiness for future growth.

Scott explains that manufacturing Sky digital TV boxes required a single ERP system to cover everything from inventory management to purchasing and customer orders – to give complete visibility of the supply chain and improve efficiencies.

"Before the acquisition, Amstrad operated with a number of different systems and suppliers, which made collaboration with BSkyB challenging," she says.

"Having used IFS for a number of years and experiencing the benefits of its ERP system first-hand it was an easy decision to move Amstrad on to the IFS system. By consolidating these modules, we can now better manage overheads with fewer suppliers and reduce our licensing costs," adds Scott.
