Capacity planning crucial to managing virtualised infrastructures 21/09/2009

virtual infrastructure system Virtualised systems capacity planning specialist Neptuny reports huge interest in its systems at VMworld in San Francisco.

Giuseppe Nardiello, Neptuny business development manager, reckons that's because increasing numbers of IT professionals now see capacity planning as the next essential step in the evolution of virtualised infrastructures.

"After having implemented their virtualised infrastructures, customers are looking for solutions that help them to rationalise, optimise and get [cost] visibility over their still complex and heterogeneous environments," says Nardiello.

And he adds: "Neptuny provides customers with a mature solution that has already been successfully adopted by major customers around the world to manage both medium and large data centres, including physical and virtualised servers, storage, networks, facilities and more."

At VMworld Neptuny presented the latest version of Caplan, its flagship product, with improvements to support consolidation for infrastructures based on several virtualisation technologies – including VMware, Microsoft and Citrix.
