Aberdeen reveals top performing ERP companies 29/06/2009

manufacturing business software Aberdeen Group's latest Axis report suggests that SAP, Oracle, Infor and Plex Systems are the top performing ERP vendors right now.

The analyst evaluated 15 ERP vendors and author Cindy Jutras, Aberdeen vice president & research fellow, says the results are specifically around ERP solutions offering the best combined value and market readiness.

Aberdeen's Axis reports are aimed at senior managers, providing competitive intelligence, so they're well structured strategy level documents.

John Pearson, vice president of competitor intelligence products at Aberdeen explains that this 36-page vendor assessment is based on two key dimensions: performance, which it bases on 2,200 surveys conducted over the past 14 months; and vendor readiness, based on responses to a questionnaire, analyst briefings, public records and interviews.

Says Jutras: "We saw a dramatic shift last year as the need to cut costs emerged as the driving force behind ERP, regardless of industry or company size. That trend continues this year, so the real measure of success of an ERP implementation must be the efficiencies it produces."
