Harvest Foods Egypt tastes success with Oracle E-Business implementation 19/06/2009

manufacturing business supply chain software Harvest Foods Egypt says it has successfully gone live with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0.5, and now expects to reduce supply times by 50%.

The implementation, managed by Inatech, was aimed at simplifying and optimising its supply chain and manufacturing process, and IT manager Ibrahim Elawany believes the company will experience a significant difference in operation within the next two months.

He explains that Harvest Foods distributes over 80,000 units a month worldwide and required the system to enable project managers to plan customer demand and supply from raw materials to product delivery.

Prior to the implementation, says Elawany, Harvest was struggling to provide a high-quality responsive service to its customers.

In the last few weeks, the company has been eliminating its backlog and running tests throughout the system to filter inaccurate data so that E-Business suite can improve decision making, by providing high-level information from across the company in real-time.

"The most important feature of this application is the accuracy of information retrieved to be able to assess supply demands. We are now able to control inventory and current assets for distribution," comments Elawany.

"Oracle is the latest technology for the Internet: I can access the application remotely giving me full control of business operations. It is already reducing the time between sourcing materials to customer distribution that will also improve the quality of our products immensely."

Inatech implemented the Oracle modules GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management, Purchasing, Inventory, OPM, Order Management, Process Manufacturing, Advanced Supply Chain Planning and Daily Business Intelligence. It also provided the solution in Arabic and English, including training to in-house users.
