BT links Nestlé’s global operations on Cisco Telepresence 17/06/2009

manufacturing business communication system BT is to connect Nestlé's global offices using high-end video conferencing services based on Cisco Telepresence.

Olivier Campenon, BT president, EMEA, says that Nestlé will get a fully-managed video conferencing service running on BT's global MPLS (multi protocol label switching) network.

And he adds that the deal also includes on-going support using BT's Video Business Unit (VBU) Concierge service.

The solution, which will initially connect Nestlé's global hubs, is to use high-definition video and multi-dimensional sound to achieve the high quality videoconferencing.

Campenon explains that the system gives users the feeling of being in the same room as the other participants, wherever they may be.

Nestlé says it expects the new system to reduce its travel costs and improve productivity through improved collaboration between geographically dispersed teams.
