Infratek selects IFS Applications for Nordic operations 09/06/2009

manufacturing business software Nordic infrastructure maintenance firm Infratek says implementing IFS Applications ERP is helping it to streamline business processes as it sees strong growth.

Infratek CEO Lars Bangen explains that its new solution, which includes implementation services across all of its Scaninavian entities, is an extension of an agreement signed last year, covering a subsidiary of the group.

The new deal with IFS, worth more than SKr 10 million, is a result of growth due to acquisition, including that of Fortum's service operations in Sweden, Norway and Finland.

"Our collaboration with IFS has been good over the years, so it was natural for us to extend our utilisation throughout the Infratek group now that we are consolidating our acquisitions in a comprehensive offering," says Bangen.

Infratek is a spin-off of the Hafslund utilities group, which has been using IFS Applications since 2000. That implementation resulted in what Bangen describes as "significantly more efficient operations and control of its processes, enabling the group to reallocate administrative resources and invest more in customer service".

The company, he says, will now use IFS Applications components for service management and contracting, logistics, financial control, HR and project management – with Ernst & Young, taking primary responsibility for project management.

The project is expected to complete before the end of 2009. "Our aim is to introduce more efficient common processes in all our Nordic subsidiaries," says Bangen.
