Syclo partners with SAP for mobile service technician access 06/04/2009

Manufacturing business software Mobile enterprise platforms developer Syclo has signed an agreement with SAP to deliver mobile applications for maintenance and service technicians into SAP Business Suite from a range of devices.

Dieter Hässlein, vice president for EAM (enterprise asset management) at SAP, says the pair intend to make SAP and Syclo's Smart Mobile Suite easy to access.

"The co-operation with Syclo enables our customers to increase the productivity of maintenance and field service technicians by connecting them to SAP Business Suite for work order or service order execution, operator rounds and materials management," says Hässlein.

"Syclo was a natural fit for our business, because it is a recognised leader with proven mobile solutions for asset management and field service, tightly integrated to SAP Business Suite, and in use today by our customers."

It seems to be a fair claim. Syclo's Smart suite was designed for service technicians both on the plant floor and servicing customers post sale.

It provides remote access to asset management or customer account information including work orders, tasks lists, bill of materials, service orders, spare parts and other customer information located in SAP ERP and CRM applications.
