Reckitt Benckiser chooses IBM to manage global IT infrastructure 25/09/2008

Health and personal care giant Reckitt Benckiser Group has signed a multi-year contract with IBM to re-structure its global IT infrastructure for more speed and agility.

The move is to enable Reckitt Benckiser to realise its stated objective of 75% revenue growth over the next eight years, and IBM is establishing two new data centres in the UK to run its business applications worldwide, manage the migration from its current data centre in the Netherlands and support planned expansion.

IBM is also replacing the existing wide area network and says it will provide a fully managed, single-source solution with a common platform for consistent services and easier management.

Says Eric Sheley, information services director, production delivery, at Reckitt Benckiser: “IBM is not a supplier, but rather a strategic partner, focused on working as part of the Reckitt Benckiser team to deliver these solutions to the levels required.”
