Lightblocks to focus on growth and efficiency with Epicor ERP 12/09/2008

manufacturing business software Light transmitting acrylic finishes manufacturer Lightblocks says it has selected Epicor manufacturing ERP and its configurator software to support growth and a drive to increase production efficiency.

Lightblocks, which serves the design, architecture and construction sectors, providing materials for partitions, ceilings, furniture, doors, lighting fixtures and flooring, says it needed a system with exceptional flexibility.

“Our company’s roots are in public art, as we create a different, custom product nearly every time,” explains Ken Bush, Lightblocks’ chief financial officer. “It was important that we find an ERP system that allows us to break out of the mould of widgets and standard, repeat processes. Epicor’s product configurator offers us some pretty complex options.”

The company also expects Epicor’s sales and marketing functionality to light the way. “CRM [customer relationship management] is a large focus here,” says Michael Samborn, vice president of sales with Lightblocks.

“We have customers who purchase set products; others who send unique product specifications; and some that combine the two. The process varies to the customer’s needs. Epicor will allow connectivity between our different customer databases in real time,” he adds.
