LS Simple claims power management system is first for ECA 15/08/2008

Technology that could save millions of is being claimed by LS Simple, with the launch of its Simple IPM (intelligent power management) structured cabling system.

It’s the first in the world, says the company, to be eligible for enhanced tax relief in the UK under EPA (Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme) – meaning a 100% first-year capital allowance saving – and the company is offering free trials.

Paul Eo, regional manager Europe for LS Simple, says: “In addition to the ongoing savings that can be achieved by installing IPM, the ECA accreditation means that, through the 30% enhanced tax refund, businesses will see an accelerated return on investment.

“To demonstrate the advantages of the Simple IPM solution, we are offering free trials to any company that wants to judge the benefits.”

He says that the system allows management to a micro level down to individual cabinets, with reductions in power used in data centres of up to 30%.

“In a typical 500 rack data centre consuming 4,150 kilowatts, this can equate to some £2 million,” says Eo.
