Wagon Automotive revs up business with QAD MMOG/LE 18/06/2008

manufacturing business software Tier One automotive suppler Wagon Automotive says it has deployed QAD ERP and successfully complied with the industry’s MMOG/LE (materials management operations guidelines/logistics evaluation) best practices.

The company, which manufactures structural components and assemblies using roll forming technology, says it needed to streamline its internal and external communications. Since going live, it reports a significant reduction in manual intervention and cut inventories by 26%.

Its implementation was driven by a requirement to comply with MMOG/LE from Ford in May 2007 last year – which, it says, was going to be difficult in the face of a legacy ERP system not interfaced to back office systems or its EDI applications, and requiring spreadsheets for reporting.

Says Andy Schoenherr, Wagon COO: “We went from kick-off to live in four months, and it has resulted in improved delivery performance to support consistent operations required for world-class performance. The type of support we got from QAD during our implementation was the only way to achieve these results in a short amount of time.”

QAD Global Services guided the company through the MMOG/LE self-assessment process, helping the manufacturer to define actions required for improvement. “The QAD consultants are very knowledgeable and they put us on the right track to get where we needed to be,” comments Schoenherr.

“They were able to answer all of our questions, mostly from their own knowledge base, without having to contact somebody else.”
