Tyres wholesaler to implement Syncron supply chain planning 15/05/2008

Micheldever Tyre Services, the UK’s largest tyre wholesaler, says it expects to improve supply chain efficiency when it goes live with Syncron’s planning system.

Mike Flood, Operation Director at Micheldever Tyre Services, is confident that the system – which is due to be implemented as a process layer on top of its existing ERP system – will reduce inventory levels, increase availability and improve the cost of purchasing.

He also expects its to reduce the amount of inter-location trucking between its distribution network and retail outlets, while minimising storage costs.

“As we continue our expansion strategy, a unified supply chain process will be absolutely critical to our success,” says Flood. “We needed a standard solution that could be rapidly deployed to provide tangible results in our business within the next financial year.

“Syncron demonstrated that its technology could be easily implemented, despite the complexity of our supply chain, with no changes required to our existing infrastructure.”
