Infor takes Boeing Performance Excellence award; reveals performance management upgrade

Acquisitive extended ERP software developer Infor has received the 2007 Boeing Performance Excellence Award.
The award – presented annually to just 48 Gold level firms from a cast of more than 10,000 global Boeing suppliers – comes just as Infor releases its Infor PM 10 (Performance Management), aimed at ending what the company calls “spreadsheet chaos”.
Infor PM 10 is a suite of business performance management applications and analytics, which the company claims provides functionality to help manufacturers gain insight into operations at the plant and corporate levels.
Stated goals include more accurate forecasting of future performance, alongside decreasing the time it takes to consolidate financials from disparate global business units.
Says Christina McKeon, director of product marketing for Infor Performance Management solutions: “Too many manufacturers are dealing with spreadsheet chaos, which gives the finance organisation headaches waiting for updated financial data and leaves management without the real-time information they need to make sound business decisions.
“Infor PM 10 provides them with the functionality they need to improve visibility into operational and financial performance, allowing them to align the business with strategic goals, faster and with greater ease. Infor PM also has other bottom-line benefits, such as the ability to identify overlooked costs that are squeezing profitability.”
