Mexican pharmaceuticals manufacturer prescribes Epicor ERP system 30/04/2008

Mexican pharmaceuticals manufacturer Tecnofarma says it expects to streamline business process management and improve operational controls when it goes live with an Epicor ERP system.

Tecnofarma CIO Torres Mendoza, says the company was looking for an integrated enterprise system that would enable it to manage business processes across the entire organisation.

Until now, many of these have been handled manually, resulting in failed control at several stages, he says, and he adds that the lack of reliable information as well as poor communication between different areas of the company also hampered productivity and efficiency.

“We were looking for a solution based on a web services platform, proven in our industry and that would provide low total cost of ownership and the best return on our investment,” says Mendoza.

Hence the Epicor solution, which is built on a service-oriented architecture (SOA) using Microsoft .Net and web services, optimized for supply chain collaboration.

“With Epicor, we have a cost-effective business platform and enterprise solution that will help us to visibly improve the management of our operations and will support our future business growth,” says Mendoza.
