Manufacturers spend more on Oracle EPM and BI software 01/04/2008

Enterprise performance management (EPM) and business intelligence (BI) software continue to top the adoption charts among manufacturers across Europe, Middle East and Africa, according to Oracle’s sales figures.

The company says that users are continuing to transform how they manage, interact with and utilise financial and operational information to drive better decision-making and better business.

Oracle trots out a huge list of new users harnessing its EPM and BI software components, but Polish ceramic tiles manufacturer CNG’s IT specialist, Zbigniew Polakowski, says it all: “We were really impressed with [Oracle business intelligence’s] extreme ease of use and [the] administration of the Oracle analytic system. It means that we can handle building the analytic levels we need without the help of IT experts.”

“The continued industry recognition and customer adoption of Oracle’s EPM system and BI solutions solidifies the need for a centralised performance management system that spans both finance and operations,” says Alain Blanc, Oracle senior vice president EMEA EPM/BI.

“Information gives more power to business execution. Our customers are using Oracle software to put that power in the hands of users across their organisations – enabling them to better utilise, understand and act upon information that can transform business results.”

Oracle’s EPM system is a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, bringing together performance management applications, packaged BI, and associated software tools.
