Radiation therapy machines manufacturer goes live on SAP in 16 weeks 28/03/2008
 
manufacturing business software Madison, Wisconsin-based radiation therapy systems manufacturer TomoTherapy implemented its SAP Business All-in-One solution in just 16 weeks – and realised immediate benefits – according to the company.

The firm says it went live in January, with the goals of managing product innovation electronically, consolidating its technology leadership and enabling international growth.

Martin Christopher, TomoTherapy’s director of IT, says the firm used SAP Best Practices packages to help speed up the implementation – also reducing cost and its reliance on consultants.

“SAP Business All-in-One and SAP Best Practices gave TomoTherapy the tools to implement quickly, so that we could keep our focus on our customers,” he says. “Our system was delivered on time, within budget and with no unplanned downtime.

“With SAP Business All-in-One, we have much better visibility into our global operations and performance, and we enjoy the peace of mind that comes from having a fully compliant business system. In addition … we have more than doubled the throughput for engineering change orders, which directly benefits our customers.”
