Epicor extends its service management software solution 18/10/2007

Epicor says it will shortly release enhancements to its Epicor for Service Enterprises software, with a new accounting interface tuned to support throughput from the increasing number of multi-thousand user global service organisations.

The announcement cam at this week’s Epicor Perspectives 2007 annual user conference in Orlando before some 2,000 customers, partners and industry leaders.

It’s due this autumn, and will be followed by a project-focused version aimed at smaller mid-market manufacturers that stage business-wide implementations.

The service offering improvement comes in response to customer suggestions, according to the company, and also includes optimised integration performance, wider business process and workflow support for financial transactions; streamlined interface for scheduling, managing and tracking financial web services; and better integration support for non-Epicor back office accounting environments.

“The multi-tier Epicor for Service Enterprises offering is intended to give our customers more for their investment,” says Malcolm Fox, senior manager of product marketing for Epicor. “While other vendors only offer point solutions, which limit a user’s options for future expansion, Epicor for Service Enterprises Express is designed to offer a strong and essential core solution that can be built out by adding elements such as opportunity and bid management, contingent workforce management and project procurement, on an as-required basis.”
