QAD launches Enterprise Applications 2007.1 for global manufacturers 11/10/2007

Enterprise software developer QAD says its new Enterprise Applications 2007.1 will “help manufacturers improve visibility into operations, move quickly and efficiently and balance corporate financial concerns with local market effectiveness”.

Enhancements, it says, are aimed at global manufacturers – specifically with improvements in transportation management, supply chain visualisation and business intelligence.

The company is also playing on its ‘perfect lean market’ credentials, in term designed to help manufacturers streamline operations, improve communication and reduce waste within the supply chain.

“The release of QAD Enterprise Applications 2007.1 demonstrates QAD’s continuing commitment to providing manufacturers with solutions that give them a competitive advantage in the global marketplace,” says Pamela Lopker, chairman and president of QAD.

“And with so many of our offerings now moving toward on-demand availability, we are pushing the industry one step closer to achieving the Perfect Lean Market for manufacturing,” she adds.

In brief detail, new features include QAD Transportation Management System, QAD Supply Visualisation, QAD Business Intelligence, QAD .Net UI and QAD QXtend.

QAD Transportation Management (TMS), for example, has a new user interface and features for shipping non-production items directly from the desktop, as well as enhanced import management capabilities.

Meanwhile, QAD Supply Visualisation is an on-demand module that encourages collaborative visibility around demand between manufacturer and supplier – and can now integrate with QAD TMS, allowing tracking of shipments throughout the supply chain.

As for the QAD .Net user interface, there are now integrated dashboards, role-based collections and ad-hoc workflows, while QAD QXtend – QAD’s integration and services layer – now enables greater transactional throughput and simpler implementation.
