Solve factory problems with live extended SFDC reports 03/08/2007

Shopfloor data collection (SFDC) specialist DLoG has extended its Net Report machine monitoring software, with reports for machine utilisation, OEE (overall equipment efficiency), trend analysis, downtime and comparisons by machine.

Typically, information on machine status is sent in real time via a cabled or WLAN (wireless) network from data collection terminals, DLoG’s industrial PCs or standard PCs. Net Report is then used across the company’s intranet for web-based near real time assessments of manufacturing resources.

Now, pre-formatted reports, supplied with the software’s latest release, extend that, with browser-based access to KPI charts in pie, bar, line, text and pareto format, powered by industry-standard Crystal Reports.

The company says that evaluation parameters can be defined to meet user requirements, with machines selected singly, by group or in designated cells.

Likewise, time periods can be specified, along with the downtime functions to be analysed, and the report format. Users can also select which shifts and whether reports are to be displayed daily, weekly or monthly.

Which adds up to a very low cost way to get fast and accurate visibility of potential manufacturing bottlenecks and other shopfloor problems that are traditionally difficult to pin down.

Results can also be forwarded to Microsoft Excel or other standard graphics processing application or written directly to an external database.
