Process industry PLM solution aimed at improving efficiencies 18/07/2007

Infor’s latest process industry PLM (product lifecycle management) software suite is claimed to streamline product innovation processes, improve operational efficiency across whole businesses and allow manufacturers “to significantly reduce time to market”.

Its PLM Optiva includes new user interfaces, regulatory compliance authoring and management capabilities, and an SOA (service orientated architecture) approach.

“Optiva enables customers to quickly adapt internal and extended enterprise processes – from concept to commercialisation,” says Rory Granros, Infor’s director of industry and product marketing for process industries. “The result is faster time-to-market for new products, higher product success rates and, ultimately, additional profitable revenue streams.”

Specifically on regulatory compliance, he says that Optiva’s authoring enhancements now allow companies to reduce the time and costs associated with generating and managing, for example, material safety data sheets and hazard labels.

Optiva is automatically updated with industry and government regulatory rules, which helps manufacturers reduce their compliance and maintenance costs.
